Honke Kanoya (本家かのや) is an traditional soba (buckwheat noodles) restaurant located 5 minutes away from Shinjuku station or 2 minutes from Yoyogi station. The restaurant specializes in traditional Kyushu and Kagoshima dishes, ranging from Kagoshima Black Pork (黒豚) to Chicken Sashimi (鶏刺し). For lunch, they offer teishoku-style lunch menus around ¥1,000 and for dinner, they offer traditional Japanese hotpot shabu-shabu (しゃぶしゃぶ) course for ¥6,500.

Kotatsu Seating
During winter, the restaurant offers traditional kotatsu seating, commonly used by Japanese locals in their households during the winter. The tables are covered with blankets and heated from underneath. It is indescribably cozy and a unique Japanese experience we highly recommend!

Shabu-Shabu Course
During dinner hours, we recommend ordering the signature shabu-shabu course with all-you-can-drink, priced at ¥6,500. The course includes 8 dishes, including appetizers, sashimi, Japanese style fried chicken, black pork and seasonal vegetable shabu-shabu, and their signature 100% buckwheat soba. Drinks are unlimited for 2 hours, including beer and a wide range of sake.
